A Bag of Rice Can Change A Life
Food scarcity is becoming a real issue in today's society. In the UK, more than 14 million people are living in poverty – including 4.5 million children. This problem has become even more prevalent in recent times due to the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns.
Due to lockdown, many of our loyal customers in shops, churches, and schools have not been able to undertake the 90kg Rice Challenge as they usually would, this has meant a severe drop in demand for rice and therefore us not being able to order containers of rice which the farmers depend on for their livelihoods and their children’s education.
Changing Lives One Bag at a Time
We know that the humble bag of rice has the power to change lives. To do our bit in addressing this issue, JTS are launching our biggest ever rice donation project with the aim of
strengthening
communities both here and in the farming communities in Malawi who have also been adversely affected by the pandemic. We aim to
Build Back Fair, throughout these times of crisis and beyond while promoting
dignity through trade.
Can you join us in the sharing of our resources and inspire a few people to contribute towards a 90kg Rice Challenge which we can then submit to a local foodbank on your behalf?
Let’s celebrate the world's harvest, feed the world and make a tonne of difference with small acts of kindness together!
"A huge thank you to JTS for your generous contribution and commitment of ethically sourced food. This allows us to continue making a positive impact in the lives of the vulnerable children we serve through our communities."

"When you buy Kilombero Rice, you are enabling me to provide for my family and their futures."
Howard Msukwa, Rice Farmer in Malawi
Let’s help to fight food poverty both locally and globally
90kg of rice can benefit households in the UK as part of their food parcels issued by the foodbanks and meanwhile in Malawi 90kg of rice can provide a sustainable income for the rice farmers and their families and enable their children to attend secondary school for one year.
Any contribution is worthwhile so if 90kgs is too much then there is also the option to donate anything from 1kg. In uncertain times your generosity is needed more than ever.
