Cheese Stuffed Beer Bread Christmas Tree
Stuffed with cheese for a delicious sharing festive snack
You Will Need:
- 1 True Origin Beer Bread Mix
- Beer or soda water
- Zaytoun Olive oil
- Cheese of your choice, cut into even pieces (to stuff the dough balls)
- 2 tablespoons salted butter
- 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, plus more for serving
For serving:
- Freshly grated parmesan
- Sunripened Fig Balsamic Reduction
- Rainbow Pepper
- Sundried Tomato Relish
Method:
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (180 degrees fan). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pour the beer bread mix into a bowl and mix with one can of beer or soda water as per pack instructions. Roll out the dough into a 9-by-14-inch rectangle. Cut the dough into 30 1- to 2 inch pieces.
- Cut the cheese pieces, then wrap with the dough pieces, folding over the corners and pinching the seams together.
- Build the tree shape by pacing 1 ball at the top of the sheet, then add rows of increasing width until there are two dough balls left. Place these remaining dough balls under the last row in the centre to make the tree stump. The edges of the dough ball should be touching. Bake for 16-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Meanwhile, heat the butter and garlic in a small saucepan until the butter is melted and lightly bubbling and the garlic is fragrant. Turn off the heat and stir in 2 tablespoons of parlsey.
- Once the tree is done, brush all over with the garlic butter, then sprinkle with as much parmesan and parsley as you like. Serve immediately with sundried tomato relish.
